Margareta Holmstedt leads the European Briefing Unit, which provides continuing professional education in the form of short courses and conferences for the public and voluntary sectors. She teaches courses on the European Union and different aspects of EU funding and is currently developing an electronic teaching aid on EU institutions and decision-making. She has particular expertise in European social policy. The European Briefing Unit provides over 80 training days per year in different parts of the UK and other European countries. The Unit also organises study tours to the European institutions in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. The Unit is part of a COMENIUS funded teacher training project, My Europe, with partners in Greece, Ireland and Sweden, which was initiated by Margareta.
